interpretation

Start with the actual decision

Routing, scheduling and allocation combine constraints with an objective. Classical exact solvers and heuristics already tackle many such problems. A fair comparison fixes the input, constraint handling, solution quality and total time budget.

background

One proposed quantum method

QAOA is a gate-based approach that alternates problem-dependent and mixing operations, usually with classical parameter selection. Quantum annealing is a different approach. Results from one do not establish the performance of the other.

interpretation

What would be convincing?

Compare with a strong classical baseline, include parameter search and repeated runs, and report solution quality as well as time. The cited algorithm proposal supports research interest; it does not prove general business advantage or profitability.

Why interference matters

Quantum operations change amplitudes before measurement changes them into outcome probabilities.
